Helix, Oregon - Flight

22/02/2016 - Andrew Holly

Complete bonus flight tonight. We were not expecting to fly but the winds settled and the snowstorms were stuck on the mountains. We found a small town called Helix which was just south of the state line into Washington. With only 30 minutes to go until sunset we struck lucky and stumbled across the town Mayor. He gave us permission to fly from the Town Hall and just six minutes later we were in the air. The landscape again so contrasting to the previous flight with rolling hills and green fields..... Almost a bit like being back in England..... We flew for 16 minutes and 30 seconds landing just one minute before sunset and making our 15 minute minimum requirement as set by Guinness. As for the landing? Well we had the Mayor with us who gave us permission close a road and land on it! :)
